⚡ Quick Takeaways
- Jazz and Zong are the main operators with visible 5G coverage maps so far.
- Zong’s public map shows 150 active 5G sites across Pakistan.
- The listed coverage is concentrated in major cities, airports, business hubs and cantonment areas.
- Ufone’s public coverage page still focuses on 3G and 4G coverage, not a clear 5G city list.
- Users should treat coverage maps as indicative because signal quality can vary by building, device and location.
Pakistan’s early 5G footprint is no longer just a trial headline, but it is still a limited city-by-city rollout. For ordinary users, the real question is not whether 5G exists in Pakistan, but whether their own area, market, campus, airport or neighbourhood is covered.

Where 5G Coverage Is Available So Far
The current public picture shows two main 5G players: Jazz and Zong. Jazz coverage is visible across selected parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Gujranwala, Hyderabad and Sahiwal. Zong’s public selector shows wider city visibility, including Abbottabad, Attock, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Jhelum, Karachi, Kohat, Lahore, Mardan, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sialkot and Swabi.
This does not mean whole cities are covered. In most places, 5G availability appears around airports, cantonments, commercial roads, universities, hospitals, civic centres, major markets and selected residential pockets. Users outside these zones may still fall back to 4G even inside a listed city.
| Important: Coverage maps are indicative. Jazz states that map data may not reflect every real-time or on-ground condition, while operator signals can vary because of device support, buildings, terrain and temporary network issues. |

What Users Should Check Before Expecting 5G
A listed city is only the first filter. The second filter is the exact area. The third is handset support. Users need a 5G-capable phone, compatible software settings, an active SIM and a package or network configuration that allows 5G access. Even then, indoor signals may be weaker than outdoor signals, especially in dense markets or concrete buildings.
For now, 5G looks most useful for people working or living near airports, business districts, universities, hospitals and central roads where operators have placed their earliest sites. The broader benefit for homes and small businesses will depend on how quickly coverage expands beyond these limited pockets.
| User note: Before buying a new 5G phone only for network speed, check the exact operator map for your street or workplace, not just the city name. |
Why the Coverage List Will Keep Changing
Pakistan’s 5G rollout is still in its early commercial phase, so new sites can appear as operators expand equipment, optimize spectrum use and add capacity in high-demand areas. Zong’s map currently displays 150 active 5G sites, while Jazz provides a dedicated 5G map and disclaimer for coverage accuracy. Ufone’s official coverage page still presents LTE, 4G and 3G coverage information, which means its 5G availability is not being shown in the same public city-list format yet.
The safest way to read the present list is as a live snapshot, not a permanent final rollout map. Monthly checks are important because cities, sectors and landmarks can change as network teams add or adjust 5G sites.
