Begging is now banned in five model highways and squares of the city, Mall Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg, MM Alam Road, and Lower Mall are declared beggar free.
According to sources, the government has banned the entry of beggars on five main highways of Lahore. Beggars will not be allowed to stand at any place on the Mall Road from Istanbul Chowk to the canal bridge, Cordoba Chowk Jail Road. The entry of beggars from Main Boulevard Gulberg, MM Alam Road, Lower Mall DC Office to Chauburji Chowk will be restricted, Commissioner Deputy Minister Zulfiqar Ghman has issued a notification in this regard to not even let the beggar enter.
On the other hand, the Punjab government has decided to repair all the dilapidated roads in the province, including Lahore city. The C&W department has demanded Rs 6.40 billion from the finance department. The finance department started working on the release of the grant.
