Achievements of Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi following the Ireland Win

Babar Azam and standout pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi both captains achieved significant career milestones with Pakistan’s victory against Ireland in the second Twenty20 International on Sunday.  Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, and Muhammad Rizwan’s blistering blows helped the Babar Azam-led team successfully chase down the 194-run goal in the 17th over, giving them an emphatic seven-wicket victory against the hosts the day before. Babar Azam: Most Successful T20I Captain in Pakistan’s History

With Sunday’s victory, the star batsman became Pakistan’s most successful T20I captain ever. The 29-year-old won 45 matches in the game’s shortest format, the most of any leader.

In 78 games as captain, Babar accomplished the milestone. With 44 victories in 56 games, Brian Masaba of Uganda is in second place behind him.

Asghar Afghan of Afghanistan and Eoin Morgan of England, on the other hand, are the third and fourth most successful Twenty 20 international captains.

Shaheen Shah Afridi: 300 International Wickets

In addition, Shaheen completed his 300th international encounter with victory after getting rid of three players on Friday. In 145 games, the left-arm pacer accomplished the goal. In Test and One-Day Internationals, he has claimed 113 and 104 wickets, respectively. In contrast, he has dismissed 84 players in T20I.

The national team also achieved a personal milestone when its batters struck an astounding 15 sixes in a Twenty20 International, breaking the previous record of 12.

 

Of them, Fakhar scored the highest with six maximums, followed by Rizwan and Azam with four each. Saim Ayub, the opener, was given credit for one six.  Furthermore, the Green Shirts’ five sixes during the power play are only the second time they have occurred.
