Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to halve the price of electricity.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that from November 1, electricity will be provided to small and medium enterprises at 50% less than the November 2019 rate.
Commenting on the energy sector, PM Imran Khan said that in this age of competition, the electricity available to industries in Pakistan is expensive. Unfortunately, the industrial sector gets 25% more expensive electricity due to which our industry cannot compete. Because the previous governments had expensive power generation agreements, the package I am announcing today will boost industrial development.
Imran Khan said that from November 1, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will be provided electricity at a 50 per cent discount on surplus power, for example, if they were buying electricity at Rs 16 per unit, they will now get it at Rs 8. Similarly, all industries will get additional electricity at 25% lower rate, there will be no more pack over and 24 hours off pack over.
The Prime Minister said that the country’s economy has hardly stabilized, our exports have reached 25 to 20 billion dollars, car sales have increased, the construction industry is moving forward, if people get jobs, poverty will be reduced.
