As The Months Went By, The Sugar Problem Did Not Go Away

September 29, 2020Zayn0

Despite the passage of months, the issue of flour and sugar has not been resolved. The unavailability of flour bags at the official rates has not reduced the price of sugar as usual.

The story of flour and sugar in the open market is the same old one. The shortage of 10 and 20 kg bags of flour persisted and the price of sugar did not go down.

There are difficulties in making flour bags available at government rates. However, the flour mills have increased the supply in the market of 80 kg sacks. Flour from the sack is being sold outside the official rates. Red flour is being sold at Rs 60-70 and fine white flour at Rs 80 per kg. Domestic flour is available to the citizens at Rs. 76 per kg.

The price of sugar is also not falling. A 50 kg bag of sugar is available at Rs 4,650 in the wholesale market and sugar is being sold at Rs 100 per kg at retail stores in the market.

Contrary to the government’s measures to reduce the price of flour and sugar, the people are not getting relief.
