At an expensive affair in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, China, BYD officially unveiled the Qin L and Seal 06 hybrid cars, which come equipped with the company’s fifth-generation Dual Mode (DM) technology.

Qin L DM-i: Embodying BYD’s Design

With the next-generation DM hybrid technology, the Qin L DM-i and Seal 06 DM-i offer much reduced fuel usage. BYD is dedicated to developing new energy vehicles (NEVs) and improving their performance and efficiency, and these models are part of that effort.

Qin L DM-i; Price

The Qin L DM-i, which is priced between 99,800 and 139,800 yuan (between Rs. 3.8 million and Rs. 5.38 million), is a model from BYD’s Dynasty line.

Features of Qin L model

  • The Qin L model exemplifies BYD’s “national wave dragon face aesthetics,” with a big grille and chrome bar highlighting the unique Qin character at the front.
  • The car’s appearance is defined by classic door handles and a robust waistline that extends from the front fenders to the rear doors. The rear light cluster spans the back of the vehicle and is modelled like traditional Chinese knots.
  • Six airbags, an electronic stability control (ETC), a mobile phone NFC key, automatic air conditioning, driver-side one-touch window control, tyre pressure monitoring, and a six-speaker audio system are all standard.
  • Additional features found on higher-end models include heated and ventilated seats, an eight-speaker sound system, 18-inch alloys, a dashcam, an electric adjustable front passenger seat, and a panoramic sunroof.

BYD’s Fifth-Generation Dual Mode Hybrid Technology

In the Qin L and Seal 06, BYD’s most recent fifth-generation DM technology makes its debut. To increase total efficiency, this plug-in hybrid technology optimizes the relationship between the engine and the electric motor. In NEDC mode, the AI-powered energy consumption system is said to achieve 34 km/litre of fuel economy, and in CLTC mode, 10.7 kWh per 100 km.

Features BYD’s Fifth-Generation Dual Mode Hybrid Technology

A 1.5-litre engine with a maximum power output of 100 horsepower and 126 Nm of torque powers the hybrid system. With a 10.08 kWh battery and a 160-horsepower electric motor that generates 210 Nm of torque, the less powerful models have an all-electric range of 80 kilometres (CLTC). The more advanced variants have a more potent 214 hp EHS160 motor with 260 Nm of torque and a 15.874 kWh battery that offers a 120 km CLTC range. These vehicles have a combined range of up to 2,100 km (CLTC).
