The federal cabinet approved the export of locally manufactured personal protective equipment (PPE) and hand sanitary equipment, as it was reported that the country’s overall exports fell by 54 percent in April, but a 34 percent increase was witnessed in May.
The federal cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, also decided that a joint committee consisting of members from the ministries of co-operation would also be composed of members.
The cabinet has emphasized the importance of public awareness so that people strictly observe government-issued SOPs to protect against coronavirus spread. Members of the Cabinet expressed pleasure at the rise from two to 200 laboratories fitted with test facilities. They have been informed of testing capacity ramping up to 32,000 tests per day, up from an initial 400.
The FY2019-20 saw a total investment of $1,864, whereas the figure stood at a mere $403 million in the previous fiscal year. The policy rate went down from 13.25pc to 8pc.
The next budget must take into account the current economic situation, the firm has been told. The Prime Minister has said that economic stability and improvement measures will continue.
He emphasized the need for government departments and ministries to cut their spending and to continue focusing on improving their performance.
