Chery Announces Temporary Relief Before New Prices

Chery has confirmed revised ex-factory prices for its locally assembled Tiggo 7 PHEV, Tiggo 8 PHEV and Tiggo 9 PHEV in Pakistan after the recent sales tax revision. The change raises the official prices of all three plug-in hybrid SUVs, but the company has also opened a limited-time discount window for customers who buy before the revised rates fully apply.

The offer is valid until July 31, 2026, and applies while stocks last. This means buyers who were already considering one of the Tiggo PHEV models have a short period to save compared with the new ex-factory prices. However, the temporary prices are still above the previous prices that were available before the tax-linked revision.

Important  The temporary offer gives relief against the new prices, but it does not restore the older pre-revision prices.

Tiggo 7, 8 and 9 PHEV Prices Compared

The biggest nominal increase is on the Tiggo 9 PHEV, which moves from Rs. 13,694,000 to Rs. 15,749,000. The Tiggo 8 PHEV has also crossed the Rs. 12 million mark under the revised pricing, while the Tiggo 7 PHEV has moved above Rs. 10 million. During the discount period, each model remains below its new ex-factory rate, creating a price gap that buyers may consider before the deadline.

Model Old Price Offer Price Revised Price Saving vs Revised
Tiggo 7 PHEV Rs. 9,499,000 Rs. 9,999,000 Rs. 10,949,000 Rs. 950,000
Tiggo 8 PHEV Rs. 11,299,000 Rs. 11,499,000 Rs. 12,999,000 Rs. 1,500,000
Tiggo 9 PHEV Rs. 13,694,000 Rs. 14,299,000 Rs. 15,749,000 Rs. 1,450,000

The table shows that the discount is not a reversal of the tax impact. Instead, it is a limited bridge price. The Tiggo 7 PHEV’s offer price is Rs. 500,000 higher than its old price, while the Tiggo 8 PHEV is Rs. 200,000 higher than its old price and the Tiggo 9 PHEV is Rs. 605,000 higher than its old price.

What Buyers Should Know Before July 31

For customers, the main decision is whether the temporary saving compared with the revised price is enough to justify booking before the deadline. On paper, the Tiggo 8 PHEV gets the largest relief compared with its revised price, with a Rs. 1.5 million gap. The Tiggo 9 PHEV follows with a Rs. 1.45 million gap, while the Tiggo 7 PHEV carries a Rs. 950,000 difference.

The company has said the temporary pricing applies to existing customers and remains subject to stock availability. Buyers should therefore confirm booking status, delivery timeline, variant availability, invoice date, and final payment terms with an authorised Chery dealership before making a decision.

Buyer Note  Ask the dealership to confirm whether the offer price is locked at booking or only after full payment and invoicing.

Sales Tax Revision Pushes SUV Costs Higher

The revised prices reflect how tax changes can quickly affect the cost of locally assembled vehicles, especially higher-end hybrid and plug-in hybrid SUVs. Pakistan’s auto market is already sensitive to exchange rates, duties, taxes and financing costs, so even temporary pricing changes can influence booking behaviour.

Chery’s PHEV lineup sits in a premium SUV segment where buyers compare fuel savings, hybrid performance, seating capacity, after-sales support and long-term ownership cost. The discount may help keep short-term demand active, but the post-July 31 prices will make the Tiggo range more expensive for new buyers unless the company extends or revises the offer.

Market Watch  If the offer is not extended, fully revised prices are expected to apply after July 31, 2026.

For now, the clearest takeaway is simple: buyers still pay more than before the tax revision, but they can pay less than the upcoming revised ex-factory rates if they complete the purchase within the offer period.

Disclaimer: Prices, availability and offer conditions may change without prior notice. Buyers should confirm final ex-factory price, taxes, delivery terms and stock status with an authorised Chery dealership before booking.
