CM Places The First Double-Story Underpass’s Foundation Stone In Barkat Market

Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, said that the double-story underpass project would be called “Rustam Zaman The Great Gamma Crossing” and set the foundation stone for the first-ever unique mega project of its kind at Barkat Market, which is close to Garden Town. The double-story underpass, according to him, would be Pakistan’s first of its sort.

It is the ideal way to honor Gamma Pehlawan, the national hero and global champion. The level 1 underpass, which will be 700 meters long, will run from the Barkat market up to Canal Road. The 1.4 km level 2 underpass will connect the Jinnah Hospital to the Barkat market.

There will be two U-turns constructed: one at Bhekewal Morr and another at the Canal Road. It is encouraging that Punjab’s CBD team is building two underpasses at the same time for the first time. When this project is finished, the traffic issues will be fixed.

Although six months is the allotted time for this project’s completion, he expressed hope that it would be finished sooner.

In order for the public to benefit from this massive undertaking as quickly as possible, he stated, “I want this project to be completed within 3–4 months.”

According to Mr. Naqvi, the building of this underpass will relieve traffic congestion in the area and save commuters’ time and fuel.

On this particular occasion, Mr. Naqvi received a customary turban from Nasir Bholo, the grandson of Gamma Pehalwan.

CEO of the Central Business District (CBD), Imran Amin, briefed the chief minister on the area’s severe traffic issues, which called for the Nespak-designed underpass project.

He replied, “The SL-3 project will open for traffic in the coming four to five days,” to another question. In the next day or two, Gujranwala Express Way will be open for traffic. On February 7th, the Saggian Bridge will open for traffic.

While construction on the side roads is still proceeding, all of the primary work has been finished. There will be no compromising on upholding law and order.

Relentless punishment will be inflicted upon those proven to have participated in firing. Concerned officials were also present, along with provincial ministers Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Secretary Housing, Commissioner Lahore, and CCPO.

Speakers at the event were Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhwa of the Lahore division, CEO CBD Imran Amin, and Provincial Minister for Housing Azfar Ali Nasir.
