The city of flowers and gardens began to turn into a garbage can, so the city’s administrative heads also came up with the idea of cleanliness. Decide to impose an operational emergency in the city for two months, and start diplomatic efforts to procure machinery from Turkish contractors.
In these camera sessions, Commissioner Lahore Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghman and Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz Malik gave the green signal to Lahore Waste Management Company. The required machinery for disposal of 5,000 tons of waste will be obtained on rent. The Board of Directors of Lahore Waste Management Company will approve the operational emergency.
Allied departments will assist the Lahore Waste Management Company in the operational emergency for cleaning. In the first phase, the required machinery for cleaning will be rented, the procurement process will be taken forward in two months.
Deputy Managing Director Al-Biraq Usman Noori said that on an emergency basis, WMC has to complete the process of e-bidding as tractors and dumpers cannot clean the city. Lahore is a big city and modern machinery has to be brought for it. Waste containers and rental machinery cannot clean the city, the only solution is to complete the bidding process as soon as possible.
