Decision To Launch Digital Governance Project In Pakistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan’s commitment to improving the performance of national institutions in Pakistan, it was decided to launch a digital governance project.

According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan has completed consultations on the Digital Transformation Roadmap. The Digital Governance Wing of the United Nations Development Program gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister appreciated the UNDP Digital Transformation and Roadmap. On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan is committed to the acquisition of digital technology, the use of technology is important for the betterment of governance use will help improve government policies.

The Prime Minister was initially briefed on the transformation of 5 priority digital interventions. NADRA, EHSAS, Police Investigation and Investment Board will be digitized. According to the briefing, digital infrastructure will start with NADRA’s digital registration and digital ID. Under the transformation plan, work will also be done on digital payment system.

The meeting also decided to digitize the complete record of providing employment. For the first time, a national job portal will be set up at the national level.
