The decision to plant 51 Miyawaki forests in the provincial capital Lahore has been taken.
A meeting of all the directors of PHA was held under the chairmanship of DGPHA Jawad Ahmad Qureshi regarding Miyawaki forests. The meeting reviewed the progress on target till March. Forests will be created while Shadman and Liberty planted Miyawaki forests will be expanded, besides Miyawaki forests will be planted in Jallu, Wagah, Jilani Park, Shahdara, Taj Bagh, Moon Market and Johar Town. More than one tree will be planted in one canal area.
On the other hand, it was decided to improve the condition of dilapidated parks in the city of gardens. PHA has sought funds from the finance department for the rehabilitation of the parks. 18 parks in Iqbal Town including Asif Block, Karim Block, Nargis Block, Mehran, Raza, Khyber, Umar, Huma, Kashmir and Neelam Blocks.
