Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan presided over a video link meeting of District Food Officers and Deputy Directors across Punjab. In the meeting, Food Secretary Dr. Saddur Rehman Gilani, Director Food Punjab, and senior officials gave a detailed briefing to the senior and food minister on the situation of wheat and flour so far.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that the Punjab government was giving a huge subsidy of billions of rupees for cheap flour which should directly benefit the common man. He said that he was also taking reports of cheap flour through his private teams while feedback was also coming from the intelligence agencies including the Special Branch. Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that if cheap flour went out of any flour mill directly or through an agent, the responsibility would fall on the food department and local administration.
