The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) has appealed to the government to allow the business community to run their business seven days a week with full precautionary measures till Eid-ul-Fitr. All shopping malls should be opened with strict implementation of SOPs.
PIAF Chairman Mian Noman Kabir in a joint statement with Senior Vice Chairman Nasir Hameed Khan and Vice Chairman Javed Iqbal Siddiqui demanded the government to refrain from issuing threatening statements to re-impose the lockdown, as it would disrupt business. Panic will spread in the community as well.
PIAF Vice Chairman Javed Iqbal Siddiqui said that Eid is a very important occasion for the business community when business responsibilities are paid to millions of people involved in various economic activities. Therefore, all sectors should work smoothly so that the economy can move forward. He said that COVID-19 was diagnosed in China in January 2020, so no vaccine is available to treat corona patients. It may take another year, so it is important for all of us to adapt to the situation so that business can continue with all the precautions.
PIAF officials appealed to the government that the lockdown would ease the financial pressure and boost economic activity in the country. Therefore, he demanded that the business community be allowed to run business 24/7 till Eid.
