Dongfeng Vigo EV Set to Join Pakistan’s EV Market
Dongfeng Motor Pakistan is preparing to strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the Dongfeng Vigo EV in the local market. Also known globally as the Nammi 06, the compact electric SUV is scheduled to make its Pakistani debut on 15 January 2026, marking Dongfeng’s formal entry into the country’s growing electric crossover segment.
Developed by China’s Dongfeng Motor as a fully electric SUV for urban and family use, the Vigo EV signals the brand’s intention to move beyond passenger cars and tap into the popular SUV category, where demand for modern, tech-forward vehicles has been rising steadily.
Compact Electric SUV Designed for City and Family Use
Dimension-wise, the Dongfeng Vigo EV sits firmly in the compact SUV category. It features a 2,715 mm wheelbase, with an overall length of 4,306 mm, width of 1,868 mm and height of 1,645 mm. These proportions are intended to balance interior space with easy manoeuvrability in busy city traffic and tight parking spaces.
The size and layout make the Vigo EV suitable for young families, professionals and urban users who need a practical vehicle for daily commuting, school runs and routine shopping trips. At the same time, its SUV stance and elevated driving position are likely to appeal to buyers who prefer crossovers over traditional sedans or hatchbacks.
While final local trim details are yet to be fully outlined, the overall design brief focuses on combining compact exterior dimensions with a comfortable, versatile interior that can handle everyday Pakistani road and traffic conditions.
Battery Capacity, Range and Performance Expectations
According to initial information shared by the company, the Dongfeng Vigo EV is equipped with a 51.5 kWh battery pack. Under WLTP testing standards, this setup is expected to deliver a driving range of up to 350 kilometres on a single charge, depending on driving style, load and road conditions.
For many users, a 350 km claimed range means the vehicle can comfortably cover several days of urban driving without needing to be recharged, especially if most journeys are short city commutes. It also provides enough buffer for longer city-to-city runs when planned around available charging facilities.
While detailed performance figures such as acceleration and top speed have not been highlighted, the Vigo EV’s positioning as a compact electric SUV suggests that it is tuned for smooth, efficient everyday driving rather than outright sporty performance.
Features, Safety Tech and ADAS Package
Beyond its core electric powertrain, the Dongfeng Vigo EV is expected to come with a range of modern features aimed at enhancing convenience, safety and driving confidence. Among the headline features is a 360-degree camera system, which provides a bird’s-eye view around the vehicle to assist with parking and tight manoeuvres in congested areas.
The Vigo EV is also expected to offer a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) package. Level 2 ADAS typically combines technologies such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping support and automatic emergency braking, helping to reduce driver fatigue and improve safety on longer routes.
Such features place the Vigo EV in line with global trends where compact SUVs increasingly include semi-automated driver assistance as part of their equipment, especially in electric and new-energy vehicle segments.
Dongfeng’s Expanding EV Lineup in Pakistan
Chawla Green Motors, the company representing Dongfeng in Pakistan, has already introduced the Dongfeng Box EV hatchback and the Dongfeng 007 EV sedan in the local market. With the Vigo EV joining the lineup, the brand will offer electric vehicles across multiple segments, covering small hatchbacks, sedans and compact SUVs.
This broader portfolio suggests that Dongfeng sees long-term potential in Pakistan’s electric vehicle space, especially as more consumers look to reduce fuel costs and explore cleaner transport options. Offering EVs in different body styles also gives customers more flexibility to choose a model that fits their lifestyle and budget.
As the launch date approaches and more details on variants, pricing and charging support are shared, the Dongfeng Vigo EV is likely to become an important test case for how compact electric SUVs are received in Pakistan’s evolving automotive market.
