Under the implementation of the power-saving plan across Punjab, markets and bazaars will be closed from 9 pm tonight, wedding halls will be open till 10 pm and restaurants will be open till 11:30 pm.
A total of 63 markets in Lahore will be shut down to save electricity. In Punjab, the ban will be for two months in the first phase. It has been decided to shut down power on commercial feeders after 9 pm tonight. On Saturday, the business community will be given a special discount during business hours.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz decided to close the markets at 9 pm after meeting representatives of trade associations and chambers. The working hour’s policy for Eid shopping will be reviewed in consultation with the business community.
According to the administration, restrictions will not apply to bakeries, medical stores, ambulance services, medical centers, petrol pumps, bus stands, tandoors, and dairy shops.
