On July 3, 2019, due to shortcomings in the FBR system, 12,000 people who declared assets under the amnesty scheme could not submit their returns on time. The Federal Tax Ombudsman Sumoto took notice of the declaration scheme.

Federal Tax Ombudsman Mushtaq Sukhera has ruled in favor of 12,000 taxpayers who have filed billions of rupees in taxes under the East Declaration Scheme. Has directed the FBR to enhance the efficiency of its IT system.
