The sources close to the process stated on Friday that the establishment of the Punjab Kisan Bank was a principled move made to give farmers simple access to credit. The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by Nawaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Comprehensive Briefings on Kisan Package
The sources claimed that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz received thorough briefings on the Kisan Package. The drip irrigation method and the solarization of tube wells were also discussed at the meeting.

For farmers, the “CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme” was also approved. The chief minister of Punjab, Maryam, ordered a 70% subsidy on small tractors and a 50% subsidy on large tractors, rejecting the idea for a meager six lakh rupees in tractor subsidies. 10,000 more tractors were added to the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme at Mian Nawaz Sharif’s recommendation. The Punjab Green Tractor initiative’s first phase was to be finished within a year, per the directive of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who also decided to distribute more tractors annually as part of the initiative.
Commitment to High-Tech Mechanization
The High-Tech Mechanization Program, which is made domestically, was also approved by the Chief Minister.
