Despite hours of power outages, the government remained unaware of the fault, Power Division Minister Omar Ayub admitted that the fault was not found, while Information Minister Shibli Faraz traditionally blamed the previous governments for the power breakdown, but the City News Network revealed the facts.
The government was unaware of the power outage in the country. But the City News Network got the facts. According to sources, the breakdown was not due to maintenance of the transmission system. Another reason for the breakdown is the delay in the fog proof conductors project. During the PML-N era, the fog transmission system was supposed to be improved in a year at a cost of Rs 60 billion, but with the advent of the PTI government, the project was delayed.
On the other hand, the dams were also closed for cleaning and the demand for electricity was being met by thermal power. Warning of overload was also issued but the government could not take any action. Despite hours of power outages, the government remained unaware of the fault.
As per tradition, Information Minister Shibli Faraz also blamed the power breakdown on the previous governments. Responding to this, PML-N leader Matalal Chaudhry said that PML-N not only generated electricity but also improved the transmission system. He said that the present government wasted all our hard work.
