According to details, the Punjab government has demanded from the federal government to reduce the uniform token tax and registration fee for vehicle registration in the four provinces. The letter from the Punjab government pointed out that citizens register their vehicles in Gilgit and other provinces due to lower token tax and registration fees.
The letter said that due to high registration fee of vehicles in Punjab, vehicles are not registered. The letter further said that the registration fee of vehicles in Gilgit-Baltistan is very low. It has been suggested by the Punjab government that the said difference in fees should be eliminated and uniform fees should be fixed in the whole country.
