The Higher Education Commission (HEC) declared on Wednesday that for the next two weeks, all universities in the affected cities would be closed to physical attendance.
According to the data, HEC has clarified that all universities will continue to work as per the guidelines given earlier, except for universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEls) in the following cities, which were declared by the government for Spring holidays in academic institutions in the selected cities due to the recent upsurge in Covid-19 situation.
- Lahore
- Gujranwala
- Gujrat
- Faisalabad
- Peshawar
- Rawalpindi
- Sialkot
- Islamabad
- Multan
During the dates of March 15-28,2021, all colleges and HEls in the aforementioned cities will be closed to physical attendance. Academic activities, on the other hand, will continue to be conducted online throughout this period. Furthermore, pending and pre-scheduled exams should be carried out according to plan while adhering to all Covid-19 health and safety protocols.
HEC has urged universities to conform to the Covid-19 minimum health and safety protocols, which include thermal screening, facemask use, social distancing, the provision and daily use of sanitizers, and building disinfection. Universities should also request further advice from the Chair or the provincial/regional members of the Covid-19 Oversight Committee, or by email, if appropriate.
