During the hearing, the lawyer of Punjab Revenue Authority said that Punjab Revenue Authority has the power to levy sales tax on services items included in the agreement.
On the other hand, Justice Ayesha A. Malik of the Lahore High Court delivered a reserved judgment on the petition against sending property tax notice to PIA in the matter of landing the aircraft. The written judgment consists of five pages.
He said that the excise department could not levy property tax on the land acquired on lease. The Punjab government has leased this land till November 14, 2026. The leaseholder does not own it.
