Lahore Electric Supply Company recently released a press release that helped dispel several myths about the Green Electricity Meters in its service region. To be clear and reassure customers, LESCO has flatly denied any notion that it has prohibited the installation of these meters.

 LESCO’s View on Eco-Friendly Meters

A LESCO representative stated in the statement that green electricity meters are not prohibited. The remark appears to be a reaction to earlier media stories claiming that LESCO had outlawed the use of solar system meters.

NOCs for AMI Meters

He claimed that the LESCO representative clarified that their procedure would be to provide NOCs for the installation of AMI meters, as opposed to merely including a provision to make the meters obligatory. This is being done to make things easier for customers who choose to use these cutting-edge metering options. AMI meters offer the following advantages:

LESCO’s marketing of AMI meters is motivated by the need to address long-standing issues related to overbilling and power theft. Thanks to their enhanced technological capabilities, power supplies are generally more dependable and measurements of electricity usage can be made more precisely. The corporation wants to reduce power theft and ensure that customers only pay for the energy they use by implementing AMI meters.

Addressing Up Misunderstandings

Customers are under no obligation to replace their current Green Electricity Meters due to the introduction of AMI meters. According to a press release from LESCO, using these meters is still lawful and there are no plans to outlaw them.

LESCO’s Position Regarding Openness

The announcement from the LESCO spokesperson cleared up any concerns and misunderstandings that the previous media stories had instilled in the minds of customers at a very suitable time. This demonstrates that LESCO is committed to maintaining openness so that customers are always aware of the laws and guidelines about the business’s practices.

In summary

Customers are essentially assured by LESCO’s statement that using green electricity meters is still appropriate and beneficial. To improve services for all customers by increasing the efficiency and dependability of the power distribution system, the firm is also pushing the deployment of AMI meters. It further demonstrates LESCO’s efforts to enhance its offerings and make its structure more transparent and answerable to its customers.
