Motorola has expanded its Moto Things ecosystem at MWC 2026 with two new true wireless earbuds: Moto Buds 2 Plus and Moto Buds 2. Both models focus on better sound, stronger active noise cancellation, and practical features like dual device connection and wear detection. Motorola is also pushing AI-linked tools on compatible phones, aiming to make earbuds more useful for work calls, travel, and everyday listening.
Moto Buds 2 Plus: Sound by Bose and Call-Focused Features
Moto Buds 2 Plus are positioned as the premium option for users who switch between meetings, music, and video content. Motorola says they use Sound by Bose tuning for balanced and detailed audio.
The earbuds combine 11mm dynamic drivers for deeper bass with Knowles balanced armatures to improve clarity. They support Hi‑Res Audio with the low-latency LHDC codec and include Spatial Audio for a wider, more immersive feel.
Noise control is handled through Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation to reduce background sound during commuting or office use. For calls, the Buds 2 Plus use six microphones with Environmental Noise Cancellation. In the Moto Buds app, CrystalTalk AI applies AI noise reduction to improve voice clarity in noisy places.
Battery life is rated at up to 9 hours on a single charge and up to 40 hours with the case. Convenience features include Dual Connection for two devices at once, Audio Share to connect two pairs of Buds 2 Plus to one phone, and Wear Detection that pauses playback when you remove the earbuds.
Moto Buds 2: Strong ANC, Bluetooth 6.0, and Longer Battery
Moto Buds 2 target everyday listening at a lower price. They include 11mm dynamic drivers plus 6mm micro planar magnetic drivers and support Hi‑Res Audio with LHDC. Spatial Audio is included here as well.
Motorola claims Dynamic ANC up to 55dB, along with a Transparency Mode when you need to hear ambient sound. For calls, the Buds 2 also use six microphones with Environmental Noise Cancellation.
Battery is rated at up to 11 hours on a single charge and up to 48 hours with the case. A 10‑minute quick charge is said to deliver up to 3 hours of playback.
The Buds 2 support Dual Connection and use Bluetooth 6.0 for improved connectivity. A Gaming Mode in the Moto Buds app reduces audio latency, which can help keep sound more in sync with video and gameplay.
Moto AI, Colors, and App Controls
Both models support custom touch controls for playback, calls, and voice assistant access through the Moto Buds app. Wear Detection helps avoid wasted battery and accidental playback by pausing audio when the earbuds are removed.
On compatible Motorola devices, holding the earbuds can trigger Moto AI features such as Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, and Remember This. Motorola also mentions AI-powered translation on select devices. The real value will depend on device support and how smoothly these tools work in day-to-day use.
Motorola is also leaning into design with Pantone finishes. The Buds 2 Plus come in PANTONE Cool White and PANTONE Silhouette. The Buds 2 arrive in PANTONE Carbon, PANTONE Violet Ice, and PANTONE Gray Mist.
Pricing, Regions, and Which One to Pick
Moto Buds 2 Plus are priced at €149/£130, while Moto Buds 2 start at €79. Motorola says both models will launch in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific in the coming weeks.
If your priority is clearer calls, premium tuning, and extras like Audio Share, the Buds 2 Plus make more sense. If you want longer battery life, strong ANC on a tighter budget, and features like Bluetooth 6.0 and Gaming Mode, the Buds 2 look like the better value option.
For most buyers, it is worth checking three practical things at launch: how strong the ANC feels in real streets and offices, how clear the microphones are in wind and traffic noise, and how stable Dual Connection remains when you switch between phone and laptop during the day.
