According to Aftab Gul, president of Muttahida Nan Roti Association, since Eid-ul-Fitr, the price of an 84-kg sack of flour has gone up by Rs 2,000. The food department has completely failed to reduce the price of flour. If the old price of flour is not raised to Rs 4,400, it will be difficult to sell bread worth Rs 15. The government and the Lahore High Court should take notice of the rising price of flour. If the price of flour is not reduced, they will go on strike across Punjab after Eid.
