Muttahida Naan Roti Threatened To Go On Strike After Eid As Flour Was Not Cheap

Increase in the price of flour, the United Non-Bread Association has threatened to go on strike after Eid if the sack of flour is not cheap. Non-Bread Association president Aftab Gul says the government has failed to reduce prices. The price of an 84 kg sack of flour has gone up by Rs 2,000.

The issue of rising flour and fine prices between the government and the United Non-Bread Association could not be resolved. United Non-Bread Association officials have signaled a strike.

According to Aftab Gul, president of Muttahida Nan Roti Association, since Eid-ul-Fitr, the price of an 84-kg sack of flour has gone up by Rs 2,000. The food department has completely failed to reduce the price of flour. If the old price of flour is not raised to Rs 4,400, it will be difficult to sell bread worth Rs 15. The government and the Lahore High Court should take notice of the rising price of flour. If the price of flour is not reduced, they will go on strike across Punjab after Eid.
