A new trend of shutter down shopping has started in the markets of Lahore these days. Even in partial lockdown, traders did not come back and shoppers are shopping. Pick up the shutters and bring the customers inside. Ichhra Bazaar, including various bazaars of the city, is also being used for buying and selling. The shopkeepers pick up the shutters and invite the customer inside. After entering the customer, the shutters are closed.
Shopping and business activities continue from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with police playing the role of silent spectators throughout the process. There are also allegations that traders in the markets allegedly bribed the police to do all the work.
In Lahore’s famous bazaar Islampura, the shutters are also partially closed but customers are busy shopping inside the shops. The shopkeepers open the shutters, push the customer inside the shop and then close the shutters. Lahoreites are enjoying fear risk shopping due to their frivolous attitude.
