Broiler chickens and eggs are also out of reach of the poor. According to the official price list, broiler meat is being sold at Rs 319 per kg in the city. Citizens say that the district administration should not implement the official rate list, nor should they do business.
On the other hand, there are only 53 price control magistrates for a population of 11 million. It was decided to increase the number of price control magistrates responsible for bottlenecking inflation and to keep a close watch on the mobile app. The Home Department has been approached to increase the number of Price Control Magistrates from 53 to 200.
