May 15, 2024Zayn0

According to a recent announcement, roti and naan pricing have been revised once again. It stated that the price of roti has decreased by Rs 1 while the price of naan has increased by Rs 5. The public has a mixed reaction. Read on for more information.

Lahore’s Price Adjustments

Roti-naan bakers have announced that their roti and naan prices will be revised. According to details, the price of roti has been reduced by Rs. 1, but the price of naan has been increased by Rs.5. In Lahore, bakers have reduced the price of roti by Rs. 1, selling it for Rs. 15, while increasing the price of naan by Rs. 5, to Rs. 25.

Tandoor operators in Lahore have reduced the price of roti from Rs. 16 to Rs. 15. However, the price of naan has been increased from Rs. 20 to Rs. 25.

Government orders and Market Perspectives

The Punjab government issued orders asking tandoor operators to restrict roti and naan prices, resulting in these changes. While the government intended to preserve consumer affordability, several residents have criticized its choice to raise the price of naan.

Reason behind price hike

According to the bakers, the price hike is due to increased gas and power costs. However, some customers dispute the basis for the price increases, saying that retailers are raising prices randomly.

Stability and Fluctuation in Chicken Prices

In addition to price shifts in roti and naan, the chicken market has seen volatility. Following the initial drop, the chicken price stayed steady for two days. However, after this period, there was a sharp increase of Rs. 40 per kg, resulting in a new price of Rs. 477 per kg, up from Rs. 437 per kg.

Conclusion

The recent pricing adjustments for roti and naan in Punjab have prompted heated arguments among consumers and bakers. While the fall in roti prices may bring some respite, the concurrent increase in naan prices has sparked criticism. Certain consumers have questioned bakers’ justifications, which include rising gas and energy expenses. Furthermore, fluctuating chicken prices complicate the existing market situation. As the situation evolves, it is unclear how these pricing changes will affect Punjab consumers
