What Oppo Announced and What’s New This Year

Oppo has introduced the Watch X3 alongside its Find N6 foldable, updating its smartwatch lineup with a redesigned body, new health tracking features, and improved display performance. The headline upgrades are a shift to a more premium build, higher peak brightness, and a broader health and fitness feature set.

From a buyer’s perspective, Watch X3 is positioned as an all‑round premium wearable: it targets people who want a durable watch for daily use, stronger outdoor tracking, and richer health metrics, while also keeping the design slim enough for long wear.

The most notable change is the combination of a circular titanium body with sapphire protection on the screen. Oppo is also emphasizing comfort and weight reduction, which matters because heavier smartwatches tend to be less pleasant during sleep tracking and long outdoor sessions.

Availability is split into three color options—Global Star Orange, Gravity Black, and Infinite Titanium—plus a strap difference that separates the standard fluororubber band from Oppo’s new “bamboo joint” strap concept.

Design and Display: Titanium, Sapphire, and 3,000-Nit Brightness

The Oppo Watch X3 uses a circular design built with TC4 titanium alloy, a material valued for corrosion resistance and strength. Oppo pairs that metal body with sapphire glass that it says is rated above 8 on the Mohs hardness scale, which is meant to improve scratch resistance in everyday use.

On the screen side, the Watch X3 keeps a 1.5‑inch LTPO OLED panel at 466 × 466 resolution, but boosts peak brightness. Oppo claims brightness is up 36% to 3,000 nits, compared with 2,200 nits on the previous generation. In real life, higher peak brightness is most useful outdoors in strong sunlight where dim screens become difficult to read.

Oppo also claims the new model is smaller and lighter. Watch X3 is listed at 47.4mm in diameter, 11.0mm thickness, and 43g weight. For comparison, Watch X2 was 47.6mm, 11.8mm thick, and 49.7g. Oppo says this makes Watch X3 around 16% lighter and 6.4% thinner, which should help comfort, especially for smaller wrists.

Despite being slimmer, the watch keeps durability ratings: 5ATM water resistance, IP68 dust and water rating, and IP69 certification for resistance to high‑pressure water. That combination suggests Oppo wants it to be suitable for rain, workouts, and water exposure without treating it as a fragile device.

Performance, Connectivity, and Navigation Features

Inside, Oppo lists the Snapdragon W5 chipset, though it does not clarify whether this is the original version or the newer W5 Gen 2. Either way, W5 is designed for wearables and typically focuses on efficiency alongside responsive performance.

Connectivity is broad for a smartwatch: 4G via eSIM, dual‑band Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC for access cards and public transport. Oppo notes that NFC behavior for global markets may vary, so real-world usefulness could depend on region and supported services.

For fitness and outdoors, navigation hardware is a clear selling point. The Watch X3 supports dual‑band GPS (L1 + L5) and adds multi‑constellation tracking through BeiDou, Galileo, and GLONASS. The practical benefit is improved positioning in difficult environments like dense city streets, tree cover, and mountainous terrain, where single‑band GPS can drift.

Oppo also lists more than 100 sports modes plus advanced metrics such as VO2 Max, lactate threshold, recovery time, aerobic training effect, and heart rate recovery. These features aim at users who want more than step counts, though the usefulness depends on how consistently the watch measures heart rate during movement.

Health Sensors, Battery Claims, and Price: What to Know Before Buying

Health tracking is where Oppo is making its boldest claims. Watch X3 adds continuous glucose monitoring, along with blood pressure monitoring and a hypertension risk assessment feature. It also includes ECG, vascular health analysis, heart rate tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, sleep analysis with sleep apnea detection, and wrist temperature measurement.

It is important to treat these health features carefully. Smartwatch measurements can be helpful for trends, reminders, and early alerts, but they are not a substitute for professional medical testing. If a device shows irregular readings or warnings, the safe approach is to confirm with a qualified clinician using approved medical methods.

Battery size is listed at 646mAh, similar to the previous model. Oppo claims up to 3 days of heavy use, 5 days under typical use, and up to 16 days in battery saver mode. Charging is rated at 7.5W, with a full charge taking about 75 minutes, and a 10‑minute top‑up delivering up to 24 hours of use.

Pricing starts at $377 for the Gravity Black model. The Global Star Orange and Infinite Titanium versions are priced at $406. Oppo has not confirmed global availability details yet, so the final local price can vary based on taxes, import duties, and regional launch timing.

Bottom line: Watch X3 looks like a refinement focused on premium materials, outdoor readability, and a bigger health feature list, while keeping weight down. The key decision points for buyers will be real-world sensor accuracy, app support in their region, and whether the higher price makes sense compared with last year’s model or competing flagship watches.
