Why PTA Published This Data
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has updated its Consumer Awareness portal to show quarterly tariff trends for the top 15 hybrid and data-only bundles from each of the four major operators. The stated goal is price transparency — giving subscribers the data to compare packages across operators and spot which bundles have risen fastest.
The PTA data covers quarterly snapshots from June 2025 through June 2026, tracking price movements at every three-month interval. For the first time, consumers can see not just the current price of a package but its price trajectory over the past year — a form of disclosure that makes operator pricing decisions visible in a way they were not previously.
ℹ️ Regulatory Context — Enforcement and Transparency Together This is the same PTA that recently fined all four operators Rs740 million for SIM registration violations. The back-to-back actions — enforcement penalty followed by a tariff transparency initiative — signal a regulator increasingly willing to put public pressure on the industry through both punitive and disclosure-based tools.
The Overall Picture — What the Numbers Show
Across all four operators, the direction of price movement over the past year has been almost uniformly upward. The headline figure — 33% maximum increase — is found on two Telenor packages: the 15 Days Extreme bundle and the Weekly All-in-One Plus. Most other packages show increases in the 10–27% range.
Monthly packages have absorbed the largest absolute rupee increases, with Jazz’s top-tier monthly bundles each rising by Rs500. Weekly bundles have seen per-package increases of up to Rs130. Shorter-duration packages (3-day, 2-day, 1-day) have increased more modestly in absolute terms — Rs5 to Rs21 — though the percentage increases on some are still significant.
✅ The Exceptions — Ufone Down 13%, Several Zong Packages Flat The one exception is Ufone’s Social Champion bundle, which actually fell Rs50 (13%) over the year — from Rs400 to Rs350. Zong also held multiple monthly packages flat, including the Monthly WhatsApp Prime, WhatsApp Plus Offer, and Monthly Social Plus (which rebounded to its June 2025 price after dipping in between). These are the minority; the overall trend is clearly upward.
Jazz — Top 15 Packages
Jazz’s monthly tier shows consistent Rs400–500 increases across its premium bundles, with the Monthly X Plus, Insane Vibe, and Monthly Freedom all rising Rs500. The operator’s weekly packages have increased more moderately — Rs50 to Rs100 per bundle. The 3-Day Max Offer rose Rs21 despite its low base price, representing a 21% jump.

Ufone — Top 15 Packages
Ufone’s price increases are generally lower in absolute terms than Jazz and Telenor, reflecting the operator’s lower base prices. The Monthly WhatsApp bundle stands out with a 27% increase — from Rs220 to Rs280 — one of the higher percentage gains on a low-cost monthly package. The Social Champion package is the only one in the full dataset to have decreased in price over the period.

Telenor — Top 15 Packages
Telenor’s data shows the steepest increases of the four operators. Two packages hit 33%: the 15 Days Extreme (Rs900 to Rs1,200, +Rs300) and the Weekly All-in-One Plus (Rs400 to Rs530, +Rs130). Several other weekly bundles are in the 23–27% range. Notably, Telenor kept three monthly packages completely unchanged over the year — the Monthly Extreme Ultra Max, Monthly Prime, and Monthly Ultra Plus (which rose only Rs50).

Zong — Top 15 Packages
Zong presents the most varied picture. Three of its monthly packages are unchanged year-on-year, and two others (Monthly WhatsApp and Monthly Social Plus) ended the year at the same price they started despite mid-year movements. The Haftawar Load Offer shows the largest percentage increase in Zong’s lineup at 29%. The Weekly Pro Plus has risen Rs130, matching the highest absolute weekly increase across all operators.

What This Means for Consumers
Mobile connectivity has become meaningfully more expensive for Pakistani consumers over the past year. A subscriber on a typical monthly hybrid bundle is paying 15–22% more than they were in June 2025. For the lowest-income segment — users on short-duration 1-day or 3-day bundles — the percentage increases are sometimes higher even if the absolute rupee amounts are smaller.
The PTA’s transparency initiative gives consumers actionable tools: the quarterly trend data shows not just where prices are today but whether a package is on an upward trajectory. A package that stayed flat for three quarters before jumping Rs200 in the last quarter tells a different story than one that has risen steadily and predictably. Subscribers who check PTA’s portal regularly can make more informed decisions about which operator and which package tier offers the best value for their usage pattern.
⚠️ Prices Change Frequently — Check PTA Portal for Current Rates PTA’s advice: regularly visit the Consumer Awareness section at its official website (pta.gov.pk) and the websites of individual operators for updated tariff information. Package prices can change quarterly or more frequently — the data published in this article reflects the June 2025 to June 2026 snapshot and may already be out of date at time of reading.
