There is still shortage of petroleum products in the city. Petrol pumps in most parts of the city are closed due to unavailability of petroleum products and supply at active petrol pumps is much less than demand. According to petroleum dealers, they are facing a shortage of 60 to 70% of petroleum products.
Petroleum supply is 30 percent of the base while 60 percent of petroleum products have seen an acute shortage. State oil company-run PPP has seen intense shortage in citizen pumps. The management of government-sponsored pumps also raises its hand when the supply runs out.
In several areas of the city, Jail Road, North Lahore, Tajpura Scheme, Lal Pul, Garhi Shahu, Band Road, Multan Road and other areas, petrol pumps have been disrupted for several days, due to which the citizens are facing difficulties. Citizens have strongly opposed the federal government on the crisis of petroleum products. Senior Vice President Lahore Chamber Ali Hassam Asghar says that the federal government has failed to end the crisis of petroleum products.
Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Qasim Khan has remarked on the petition filed against the shortage of petroleum products, summoning Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Azam Khan and other responsible officers in person. There has been a shortage of petroleum products in the country for so many days and the people are screaming.
