President Anjuman-e-Tajiran Lahore, Mujahid Maqsood, in a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan said that due to the lockdown, small traders are in bad shape. Most of the traders have run out of savings while the goods lying in containers at the port are bad is happening.
He demanded from the Prime Minister that wholesale markets should be allowed to open from 8 am to 2 pm and retail markets from 3 pm to 8 pm. He assured that the government would fully comply with the SOPs and also with the customers coming to the markets.
Mujahid Maqsood Butt requested the Prime Minister to provide relief to the traders as well as the construction industry. If lockdown is essential to save human lives, then a complete lockdown should be done.
On the other hand, while holding a press conference with business leaders, Naeem Mir, Central Secretary General of All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran, said that the Lahore Chamber and all business organizations have announced to open business automatically from May 10.
He declared, “We do not want a confrontation with the government and do not want to challenge the writ of the government, we only want the economic protection of ourselves and our children, which is not possible without opening a business.”
