Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of China-Pakistan business-to-business collaboration on Wednesday, assuring Chinese companies and their investment-oriented projects of complete facilitation and impenetrable security in Pakistan. Here are the details of the news.

Pakistan-China Business Forum in Shenzhen

On the second day of his visit to China, the PM spoke at the Pakistan-China Business Forum in Shenzhen. He emphasized the potential for bilateral trade and investment, particularly in important areas like the transfer of Chinese technology, industry, and partnerships in IT, agriculture, mining, steel, textiles, and renewable energy.

Praising China’s Development Model

He praised China’s development and economic transformation model time and time again, promising to apply it to Pakistan as well.

Discussion on Export Of Mineral Resources 

He informed the meeting that although Pakistan’s exports were valued at $30 billion, the country has mineral resources estimated to be worth $10 trillion. He claimed that there is a great deal of potential to turn the mineral reserves into semi-finished and finished commodities for export.

Shenzhen’s Transformation As A Benchmark

PM Shehbaz compared the $380 billion GDP of Pakistan, home to 250 million people, to the $500 billion GDP of Shenzhen, a city of 13 million people. He referred to the Chinese city’s quick transformation as a “miracle of this century,” one from which others may benefit.

Ensuring Security for Chinese Workers 

The prime minister expressed his sympathies, citing the recent terror attack on Chinese laborers in Besham, and stated that the government has implemented several measures to guarantee impenetrable security to save the lives of Chinese labourers in Pakistan.

“I promise and guarantee that we will give Chinese workers better security than our children, and I will spare no effort to protect their lives. This won’t occur once again,” he continued.

PM Shehbaz Meeting With Chinese Ministers

Earlier, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and representatives of Pakistan’s embassy in Beijing met PM Shehbaz at the airport. The chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, Premier Li Qiang, and Chinese President Xi Jinping are among the many people the prime minister will meet with during his lengthy itinerary in Beijing.

PM Shehbaz Invitation to Huawei

Huawei is invited to contribute to the projects of Safe City, e-governance, and taxation in Pakistan. The chairman of Huawei was invited by PM Shehbaz to come to Pakistan and sign a contract for IT training and support with digitization.
