Privatization Target 100 Billion, 13 Properties In Lahore Auctioned For 17 Crore

Privatization Commission auctioned 13 government properties in Lahore for Rs. 179.354 million yesterday, including Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro and DG Privatization Commission Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi. Other officials attended.

At the event, 3 shops located on MM Alam Road were auctioned for Rs. 44.58 million, 9 apartments located on Link Ferozepur Road for Rs. 42.7 million, 74,500 and Nicholson Road Wapda Building for Rs. 92 million. The total reserve price of these government properties was fixed at Rs. 175.04 million by the Privatization Commission.

Addressing the function and talking to media, Federal Minister for Privatization Mian Muhammad Soomro said that PIA is not being privatized, the economy is improving after Corona, privatization of government institutions will be done under the ordinance.

Mohammad Mian Soomro said that there is no uncertainty, they are doing according to the privatization plan, they are holding auctions while maintaining transparency under the ordinance, Steel Mill, Mari Gas Field, Convention Center Islamabad, Services Hotel, S. ME Bank, PPL, Guddu Power Plant and power companies will be privatized.

He said that TORs are being prepared for the privatization of PIA, PIA Rose Welt Hotel will be leased, the government has set a target of getting Rs 100 billion from privatization, Under the circumstances, the economy will improve as conditions improve.
