Great news for government employees and students, the Punjab government has declared a local holiday on October 8 on the occasion of Chehlum Martyrs of Karbala and Urs Hazrat Dataganj Bakhsh.
The Punjab government has also issued a notification regarding local holidays. According to the notification, a public holiday will be observed in Lahore district on October 8 on the occasion of Chehlum Martyrs of Karbala and Urs Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh. Schools, colleges, universities, and government institutions in Lahore will be closed. However, the Civil Secretariat, provincial, and federal offices will remain open.
The 40th death anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and the martyrs of Karbala will be celebrated on October 8 with religious devotion and respect. The martyrs will shed light on the services for the religion of Karbala.
According to sources, the Punjab Home Department has sent a letter to the federal government to block mobile phone service in important and sensitive cities of the province on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain.
