Punjab government has formed a committee comprising poultry associations, traders, market representatives and government officials to control broiler prices. Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal has met a delegation of poultry association. We will not allow the mafia to exploit the people under any circumstances.
Mian Aslam Iqbal expressed his displeasure over the sale of poultry meat in excess of the stipulated prices and said that the Poultry Association has not fulfilled its commitment, which is very unfortunate, the common man will go to the limit for the benefit and protection, Poultry Association. Rao Mansab, chairman of the association, said that the poultry industry was facing a crisis and a pricing mechanism should be set up which would benefit all, including consumers.
On the other hand, open violation of the government price list is going on in Makkah Colony Bazaar. The rate of Rs. 20 per kg tomato is being charged at Rs. 40 per kg. While 150 lemons are being sold at Rs. 280 per kg, 60 Rs capsicum in Rs 100, 18 Rs spinach in Rs 40, 40 Rs bitter gourd in Rs 60 per kg, 320 Rs ginger in Rs 360 and 150, garlic Rs 280 per kg.
Instead of reducing the price, it became expensive in the market. The Pakistan Poultry Association blamed the government for the rising price of chicken.
