The mid-range Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 application processor (AP) from Qualcomm was revealed today. The silicon comes in two varieties: SM-6370, which operates with 4G signals, and SM6375-AC, which operates with 5G signals. The SM6375 model number, which was created by TSMC utilizing its 6nm node, was first known as the Snapdragon 695 in 2021 before changing to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 (SM4375) later that year. Here are the details of its features.
Improved CPU Performance
In comparison to the previously mentioned older chips, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 features two CPU clusters that are overclocked. It has two fast-running 2.3GHz Cortex-A78 high-performance CPU cores. Six Cortex-A55 low-power CPU cores with a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz comprise the second cluster.
Enhanced Graphics and Display
The Adreno 619 is the GPU that is incorporated. FHD+ displays with a refresh rate of 120Hz are supported by the AP. The Snapdragon X51 5G modem chip is included in it.
AI and Power Efficiency
The AI engine in Qualcomm’s “s” series chips improves AI-based low-light photography (more on that later) and supports numerous AI voice assistants. Additionally, the processor uses less power.
Charging and Camera Capabilities
After just 15 minutes of being connected up, a phone’s battery may reach 50% full charge thanks to Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ Technology. The back camera’s maximum resolution is limited to 108MP, with 1080p@60 frames per second being the fastest possible video recording speed.
Connectivity and Modem
The processor will enable WiFi 4 and 5, as well as Bluetooth 5.2.
Memory and Gaming Performance
Even from the specs, it’s clear that this is a mid-range processor. Supported RAM speeds for the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 include LPDDR 4X at 2133 MHz and UFS 2.2. Nevertheless, you may play video games at 120 frames per second (fps) with the Adreno 619 GPU.
Photography and Low-Light Capture
The triple-concurrent 13 MP photo and 720p30 video capturing capabilities of the Qualcomm Spectra ISP (Image Signal Processor) extend to photography. Additionally, brighter pictures can be shot in dimmer settings thanks to low-light capture.
Potential First Smartphone Launch
The first smartphone to run on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 may be the Moto G85. We recently shared some suspected specifications for the gadget, which is expected to have a 50MP primary camera and a 6.7-inch P-OLED display.
