According to the details, the Yellow deficit increased to a record level in the financial year 2019-20. At the end of the ten months of the financial year, the railways faced a total deficit of Rs 37.36 billion.
According to railway statistics, the total revenue for the current financial year (2019.20) from July to April was Rs 42.20 billion. According to railway sources, railway expenditure was recorded at Rs 79.56 billion in 10 months.
Railway deficit is expected to cross Rs 44 billion by the end of the financial year. According to railway officials, the suspension of train operations due to the COVID-19 further increased the railway’s annual deficit.
