September 7, 2020Zayn0

Restaurants overcharging customers in terms of sales tax have come under the radar of PR (Punjab Revenue).

According to details, the Punjab government had reduced the sales tax for credit and debit card payers to 5%. The PRA has received complaints that most restaurants are still collecting 16% sales tax. According to PRA officials, restaurant owners in most parts of the city are deliberately violating sales tax laws. There will be a crackdown on restaurant owners involved in overcharging soon.

The sales tax rate on credit and debit cards was reduced from 16% to 5% in the current financial year.
