Freestyle+ Is Samsung’s Next-Gen Portable Projector
Samsung has announced an upgraded version of its popular Freestyle portable projector for 2026. The new model, called the Freestyle+, builds on the design of earlier versions but focuses on higher brightness and smarter picture processing. The product was revealed just before CES 2026, where Samsung plans to showcase it to global audiences.
Like the original Freestyle, the Freestyle+ is designed as an easy-to-carry home entertainment device. Users can project movies, TV shows, games and presentations on walls, ceilings or screens without needing a fixed installation. The familiar 180-degree rotation feature is still present, allowing the projector to tilt and point in different directions, including straight up for ceiling viewing.
Double the Brightness with 430 ISO Lumens
One of the biggest upgrades in the Freestyle+ is brightness. Samsung says the new model delivers double the brightness of the previous Freestyle projector, reaching up to 430 ISO lumens. For users, this should translate into a clearer and more vivid image, especially in rooms that are not completely dark.
Higher brightness is important for portable projectors because they are often used in living rooms, bedrooms or outdoor spaces where some ambient light is present. With 430 ISO lumens, the Freestyle+ aims to offer a more comfortable viewing experience without forcing users to black out the entire room.
AI OptiScreen Brings Smarter Screen Optimization
Previous Freestyle models already offered smart features such as auto focus and auto leveling. The Freestyle+ takes this further with Samsung’s new AI OptiScreen technology, which uses artificial intelligence to analyse the projection surface and viewing conditions in real time.
AI OptiScreen introduces 3D auto keystone correction to fix image distortion on uneven or non-flat surfaces. It also supports real-time focus adjustment when the projector is moved, automatic screen fitting for compatible accessories, and wall calibration that tries to reduce visual distractions caused by coloured or textured walls. These enhancements are designed to help users get a properly shaped and sharp picture with minimal manual adjustment.
Audio, Q-Symphony and Vision AI Companion
On the audio side, the Freestyle+ continues to offer 360-degree sound, so audio spreads out in all directions from the compact body. Samsung has also added support for its Q-Symphony feature, which allows the projector to work in sync with compatible Samsung soundbars. When used together, the projector and soundbar can deliver a richer, more immersive soundstage compared with the projector alone.
The Freestyle+ will also support Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, giving users access to smart assistance features and tighter integration with the company’s wider ecosystem. Although Samsung has not yet released full technical specifications, the focus on AI-powered optimisation and ecosystem support suggests that the Freestyle+ is being positioned as a premium lifestyle device rather than just a basic portable projector.
Launch Timeline and What to Expect at CES 2026
Samsung has not announced final pricing or a specific release date for the Freestyle+ yet. However, the company has indicated that it is targeting a launch in the first half of 2026, with availability rolling out in phases across global markets. This means Pakistani buyers and other international customers may see the device arrive after its initial launch in key regions.
CES 2026 will take place in Las Vegas from 6 to 9 January, and Samsung is expected to share more details about the Freestyle+ during the event. Viewers can expect live demos, hands-on coverage and more information on picture quality, connectivity options and supported streaming apps. For consumers who like flexible home cinema setups, the Freestyle+ could be a strong option to watch in the growing portable projector category.
