Redesigned Case, Fit and Controls
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Buds4 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro alongside the new Galaxy S26 series, targeting users who rely on earbuds for almost every part of their day. According to the company, 58 percent of customers now use earbuds daily, with sound quality emerging as the number one priority, followed closely by comfort and portability. The Buds4 lineup has been redesigned and upgraded with these habits in mind, aiming to deliver better audio, smarter controls and a more practical fit for long-term use.
One of the first changes users will notice is the new charging case. Samsung has redesigned the inside so the earbuds now rest flat instead of standing upright. This makes them easier to pick up and put back without fumbling, especially when you are on the move. The case keeps its transparent lid, letting you see the earbuds at a glance and showing off the updated look of the Buds4 series.
The Galaxy Buds4 are available in Black and White, while the Galaxy Buds4 Pro come in Black and White with an online-exclusive Pink Gold option. Samsung has moved away from the previous triangular stems and now uses flat blades made from brushed metal. The touch-sensitive area on each blade is lightly engraved, making it easier to feel where to tap without looking. The new blades support pinch and swipe gestures for play, pause, skipping tracks and adjusting volume.
Bigger Woofers and Upgraded Audio Performance
The Galaxy Buds4 Pro get the biggest sound upgrade in the new lineup. They feature an improved two-way speaker system with a larger woofer and tweeter. Samsung says the new speakers are nearly 20 percent bigger than those used in the Buds3 Pro, giving the Buds4 Pro more headroom for deep bass and clearer highs. The Pro model also supports high-resolution playback up to 24-bit, 96 kHz Hi-Fi audio when used with compatible devices and services.
The standard Galaxy Buds4 use an open design that focuses on comfort, especially for people who wear earbuds for long hours at work or while commuting. Open-fit earbuds usually put less pressure on the ear canal and let in more air, but they do not seal outside noise as strongly as in-ear designs. As a result, users can expect a more relaxed fit but slightly weaker active noise cancellation compared to the sealed Buds4 Pro.
Both versions come with Enhanced Adaptive ANC, which automatically adjusts noise reduction based on your surroundings. For example, deep engine noise on buses or planes can be heavily reduced, while important sounds like alarms or sirens are allowed through or even amplified. For calls, Samsung’s Super Clear Call technology delivers 16 kHz call audio and uses powerful noise reduction to keep voices clear for both sides of the conversation.
Smart Gestures and Galaxy-Exclusive Features
The Galaxy Buds4 series works with any modern smartphone, but owners of Samsung Galaxy devices get extra integration. On a Galaxy phone, the Buds4 can connect without needing a separate app, and key controls show up directly in the Quick Panel. From there, users can adjust volume, switch ANC on or off, and control ambient sound modes with just a few taps.
The earbuds also support hands-free head gestures. Users can nod to accept an incoming call or shake their head to reject it, making it easier to manage calls when their hands are busy. Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant, can be activated to control music, send messages or even manage smart home devices using voice commands.
An Interpreter feature adds another layer of smart functionality by providing real-time translation across multiple languages when used with supported Galaxy devices. For travellers, students and professionals who often work across borders, this feature can turn the Buds4 into a handy on-the-go translation tool.
Pricing and Availability
Samsung has kept pricing in line with the previous generation. The Galaxy Buds4 are priced at $180, while the Galaxy Buds4 Pro will sell for $250, matching the launch prices of the Buds3 and Buds3 Pro. Both new models will be available from 11 March, the same date as the Galaxy S26 series release.
With bigger woofers, upgraded ANC and a long list of smart features, the Galaxy Buds4 family is clearly aimed at users who want a single pair of earbuds to handle music, calls, work and travel. For Galaxy phone owners in particular, the deeper integration and extra software tricks may make these buds an especially attractive upgrade.
