The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will not issue fresh notes on Eid-ul- Fitr to avoid the coronavirus pandemic from spreading.
According to a notification issued by SBP, a range of precautionary steps have been taken by central bank management to ensure social distancing and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Accordingly, at its meeting on April 29, 2020, the COVID-19 Committee of the Bank chaired by DG (Banking & FMRM) agreed NOT to send fresh notes to the general public and employees and their subsidiaries at the Eid-ul-Fitr 2020 meeting.
According to the statement, all Chief Managers are instructed to send these guidelines for details and strict enforcement to all the officials concerned.
