Strong Decline In Foreign Investment

Foreigners reduce dollar investment in Pakistan, during the first seven months of the current financial year, the total foreign investment recorded a 78% decrease compared to the previous year.

According to the SBP, the total volume of foreign investment in the country during the first seven months of the financial year was only 75 crores 50 lacs, down 2 Arab 68 crores 32 lacs from the same period last year, in Pakistan from July to January. The real volume of foreign direct investment in the private sector stood at 1 Arab 14 crores 93 lacs from the previous year.

The actual volume of FDI during the same period last fiscal year was 1 Arab 57 crores 70 lacs. This year, 23 crores 69 lacs from foreign investment in the stock market and Withdrawal of $ 15 crores 35 lacs was recorded.

According to the report, during the seven months, new investments of 47 crores 58 lacs were made in the power sector and 18 crores $ in the financial sector. US and British investors withdrew 31 crores from old investments in the stock market and government bonds.
