The Punjab government is considering strict enforcement of the SOPs after observing large-scale breaches in the markers. A lot of clients didn’t wear masks. Punjab Industry Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal said if the situation continues the government might shut down the markets again.

He said traders had agreed to prohibit children from entering the markets, but there’s no such thing to be seen. Sources said the chief minister had been sent a report on violation of SOPs in Anarkali, Ichhra Bazar, and Hall Lane.

On the other side, traders chief Attique Mir has bolstered the intervention of the administration against shopkeepers.

Karachi’s sealed markets include Victoria Market, Zainab Market, International Market, Gull Plaza, Madina City Center, and others.

Soon after its launch, a significant number of people entered the markets. The buyers and shopkeepers flouted all of the SOPs, including social distancing.

The district administration said they would require markets to be opened to ensure that they all follow the SOPs.
