Excise and FBR have jointly cracked down on tax evaders and unnamed property owners. A data sharing agreement has been reached between the Excise Department and the FBR to track unnamed properties and tax evasion. DG Excise Chaudhry Masoodul Haq and FBRIT member signed the MoU.
Provincial Minister Hafiz Mumtaz has said that the agreement with FBR will help in identifying tax evaders and anonymous property owners while significantly increasing the collection of professional tax. Assistance will be provided for motor vehicle registration, property tax records. ۔ Both departments will have access to each other’s online records.
Secretary Tree Excise Wajihullah Kundi said that there is a conditional agreement between the Excise Department and FBR to provide information. The Excise Department will share the details of motor branch and property tax with FBR 90 million-4.1 million property data. Mohammad Asim, Member IT Board, FBR, said that there would be a big breakthrough in getting records from the agreement.
DG Excise Masoodul Haq, Additional Director General Rao Shakeel-ur-Rehman, Director Rizwan Akram Sherwani and other officers were present on the occasion.
