The government yesterday deprived the people of a major relief by increasing the petroleum levy in fixing the prices of petroleum products on a 15-day basis.
According to a private TV channel reported on September 16, the federal government petroleum products at petrol per liter. To keep prices of petroleum levy increased from 21 rupee 70 paisa to 27 rupee 99 paisa imposed on petroleum levy increase from 21 rupee 88 to Rs 29.95 per liter, while the levy on kerosene was increased by Rs 4.29 per liter and on light diesel oil by Rs 4 per liter.
Per liter on petrol petroleum levy has been increased by 6 rupee 29 paisa and 8 rupee 7 paisa on diesel, the petroleum levy was to be used on the surface as per the rates of September 1st, then petrol would have been cheaper by Rs 36 per liter.
By maintaining the petroleum levy, diesel could have become cheaper by Rs 9.44, kerosene by Rs5 and light diesel by Rs 4.68.
