The government has cut off electricity to the people due to inflation, now consumers will have to pay an extra 83 paisa per unit, NEPRA has also issued a notification to increase the price of electricity. Consumers should not be burdened with poor performance.
The fuel adjustment in respect of electricity was 83 paisa per unit increase in prices, electricity price increases will be receiving bills in October, will have the additional burden of over Rs 10 million users this month.
NEPRA says the increase will not apply to lifeline customers and K Electric customers. The increase in electricity prices was made in line with the July 2020 adjustment.
Sindh NEPRA member Rafique Sheikh issued a dissenting note against the decision in which he said that CPPA did not follow the instructions of the authority, violating the merit order, the burden of running the power plant is being placed on the consumers. Consumers should not be burdened with poor performance.
