The Minerals Department has started consultations with the representatives of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in this regard. On the orders of Punjab Secretary Minerals Amir Ijaz, a delegation of women led by Additional Secretary Samia Saleem visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce. The members of the delegation included Deputy Secretary Atika Ammar and other women officers. The delegation had a consultative meeting with President Lahore Chamber Tariq Misbah and President Women Chamber of Commerce Rukhsana.
Samia Saleem gave a detailed briefing to the participants of the meeting on the outline of the Women in Mining project of the Minerals Department. Samia Saleem asked the chamber’s representatives for suggestions on amending the rules, providing subsidies, setting up industrial zones and equal representation of women in mining. The Additional Secretary Minerals said that the Minerals Department of Punjab wishes for the participation of women in every field related to mining. We will provide all possible facilities to women.
