According to details, the Punjab government has decided to crack down on those responsible for artificial inflation keeping in view the plight of the people. Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Aslam Iqbal while ordering crackdown against gran vendors issued necessary instructions to the concerned agencies.
The instructions issued by the provincial minister said that price control magistrates should be present in the markets and fulfill their responsibilities. The concerned agencies and administration should fulfill their duty to protect the rights of consumers. Aslam Iqbal said that these ruthless elements of the society deserve severe punishment according to the law.
On the other hand, there was no reduction in the prices of vegetables in the city and it was not possible to sell vegetables as per the official price list. Onions 90, tomatoes 200, local garlic 300 rupees, ginger 650, green chillies 150, lemon china 150 rupees per kg. Similarly, potato is being sold at Rs 90, eggplant at Rs 100, cucumber farm at Rs 100, bitter gourd at Rs 140, fenugreek at Rs 250, cauliflower at Rs 120, turnip at Rs 80, capsicum at Rs 240, ghee at Rs 80 and pumpkin at Rs 120 per kg.
In addition, beans are being sold at Rs 130 per kg, Arvi at Rs 120, Bhindi at Rs 140, Peas at Rs 300, Tenda at Rs 160 and China Carrots at Rs 140 per kg.
