The number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Pakistan rose to 36,736 and deaths on Thursday to 788, as buyers and traders’ utter disregard for the safety protocols gave the virus a free leash to infect and eradicate more.

The highest number of 6,699 cases were reported in Lahore alone from the combined figure of ordinary people, prisoners and those isolated at quarantine facilities in Punjab, which has become an epicenter of coronavirus with 82 casualties and 178 new patients added in one day.
As per Corona Testing Room spokesperson at the Department of Primary and Secondary Healthcare, there have been 145,577 tests carried out in the province so far. Among them, 13,561 positively screened for the virus, he said.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan’s government’s efforts to repatriate its national are being hailed at both national and international levels.
